Web guide rollers

Web guide rollers for sensitive manufacturing processes with maximum running accuracy

INOMETA web guide rollers are the ideal choice for all applications that require maximum web stability, process reliability, and durability in their production lines. Thanks to high-precision manufacturing and intelligent material selection, our rollers meet even the highest requirements for running accuracy, weight, and surface quality – from standard applications to high-end special solutions.
Made from high-quality aluminium or weight-optimized CFRP, they combine low mass moment of inertia with high dimensional stability – ideal for dynamic processes with sensitive substrates.
They are used wherever web-shaped materials such as films, paper, textiles, separators, or metallic substrates have to be continuously fed through production lines – for example, during coating, cutting, drying, or calendering. Our roller solutions are tailored to your individual requirements and offer you quality and performance from a single source – developed and manufactured in Germany.

Precise guidance for strip-shaped materials – with maximum process reliability

INOMETA’s web guide rollers are used in a wide range of demanding industries – wherever sensitive, functional, or high-quality webs need to be guided, coated, tempered, or finished in a reliable manner. Typical areas of application include the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries, particularly in electrode and separator production, as well as in the production of technical films and sophisticated packaging materials. INOMETA’s high-precision rollers also make a decisive contribution to process quality in the printing and converting industry, for example in flexographic, gravure, offset, or digital printing. Other key industries include the paper and cardboard industry, packaging machine manufacturing, the textile industry, and sensitive areas of application such as electronics and circuit board production and fuel cell manufacturing.

Typical areas of application for web guide rollers:

  • Battery manufacturing
  • Technical films & packaging materials
  • Printing and converting industry
  • Paper and cardboard processing
  • Packaging machine manufacturing
  • Textile industry
  • Electronics manufacturing & circuit board production
  • Fuel cell manufacturing

Thanks to a wide range of materials, diverse coatings, and optional additional functions – from media-carrying temperature control to special bearing and mounting concepts – the rollers can be precisely tailored to the respective process requirements. Our solutions are also compatible with common machine systems and are suitable for retrofit and replacement projects.

Web guiding rollers for the production of technical and highly sensitive foils

The production of technical and functional foils – for use in electronics, optics, medical technology, or sensor technology, for example – is subject to particularly high requirements for web stability, surface quality, and freedom from particles. Even minimal deviations in web tension, concentricity, or coating quality can impair the function of the finished foil, with noticeable effects on downstream processes and product specifications.
INOMETA offers precision-engineered web guiding rollers that are specially adapted to the requirements of sensitive foil applications. Thanks to a low moment of inertia, low-vibration lightweight construction, and precise concentricity, they ensure uniform and tension-stable web guiding – even in highly dynamic processes or with demanding substrates such as ultra-thin PET foils, Teflon-based carrier films, or microstructured multilayer systems. Especially in applications with minimal wrap angles, their low start-up torque enables reliable web guidance without tension spikes or material slippage.
High-quality surface finishes – such as PROTEK® anti-stick, hard metal, or ceramic coatings – minimize particle adhesion, improve cleanability, and support consistent product quality over long operating periods. INOMETA rollers thus make an essential contribution to process reliability in foil extrusion, coating, and finishing, and therefore to the quality of the final product.

Roller solutions for electrode coating and drying in cell production

In lithium-ion battery production, INOMETA’s web guide rollers play a key role in the reliable handling of sensitive web materials – especially in electrode manufacturing (coating, drying, calendering), separator production, and cell assembly. The materials used – ultra-thin aluminium and copper foils as well as porous separator foils – are sensitive to tension fluctuations, particle adhesion, and thermal stress.
INOMETA CFRP lightweight rollers with minimal mass moment of inertia for maximum web stability during coating and cutting processes, high-temperature-resistant roller coatings for drying zones and vacuum areas, as well as structured or functionalized surfaces that minimize particle adhesion and optimize web smoothness.
Electric heating rollers are also available for heated calendering processes. Particularly in quality-critical electrode coating, the integration of web tension measurement technology enables precise real-time detection of material tension – in conjunction with automated control systems, tension fluctuations are detected and actively compensated. In addition, the INOid® and INOlogic® digital systems create the conditions for complete traceability, predictive maintenance, and auditability – a decisive factor for cell manufacturers and plant engineers who depend on stable, scalable processes on a gigafactory scale.
