As a mechanical component, INOMETA platen rollers are used to hold materials in position during production processes by applying targeted pressure, to secure them evenly, or to convey them. In printing, laminating, and coating processes, in particular, they ensure consistent material processing by optimally pressing the substrate onto a counter surface or backing pad without damaging it. This ensures precise and uniform further processing, reduces error sources, and improves process stability.
INOMETA develops innovative platen rollers with precise pressure control, durable coatings, and maximum process stability to ensure maximum efficiency and quality in production. By using high-quality materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, our platen rollers offer a wide range of benefits and enable the production of high-quality composite materials.
Platen rollers are essential components in numerous industrial processes where materials need to be applied, secured, or processed evenly. They ensure a defined contact pressure and guarantee precise, uniform processing of a wide variety of substrates.
Typical areas of application for our platen rollers include:
In the battery industry, platen rollers perform important functions in electrode manufacturing and cell production. They are used in the coating, calendering, and lamination of electrode materials to ensure uniform layer distribution and optimum material adhesion.During the coating process, they press the active material evenly onto the carrier film, preventing fluctuations in layer thickness and improving cell performance. During calendering, they compress the material structure, resulting in higher energy density and better ion conductivity. They also optimize the adhesion of individual layers during lamination and minimize unwanted air entrapment. Thanks to our PROTEK® coatings, platen rollers also prevent deposits of electrode materials, reducing waste and increasing process reliability.
In printing sector, our platen rollers are used in the rewinder and unwinder as well as in the web guide of printing presses. They ensure smooth winding and unwinding of substrates during printing. The rollers exerts a controlled force on the substrate against the web guide or rewinder, ensuring detailed prints with vibrant colors and sharp contours. This reduces air bubbles, wrinkles and movement of the substrate during printing, leading to error-free results, minimized waste and optimized printing processes.
CFRP platen rollers can be delivered with diameters between 30 mm and 1200 mm and even greater. Depending on the application, roller lengths of up to 13,000 mm are available.
