What began as an internal future-oriented project is now a reality – a production facility that meets the highest standards and sets new benchmarks in roll manufacturing.

Automated series production with maximum efficiency

The core of the expansion are four highly automated production cells specifically developed for the series production of coated aluminium rollers. Equipped with high-precision industrial robotics, they handle all essential machining processes – from raw part clamping to final measurement. They process rolls with lengths of up to two meters and variable diameters. The processes run around the clock, with a high degree of precision, efficiency, and maximum repeatability. Adaptive controls and digital process monitoring enable dynamic adaptation to different component geometries and requirements – with the aim of minimizing scrap rates and maintaining product quality at the highest level.

Smart factory starts at the roller

An essential aspect of this new manufacturing logic is the intelligent linking of production and digital lifecycle management. Each roller can be assigned a unique digital identity directly during the manufacturing process using INOid®, a system developed by INOMETA based on QR code or RFID technology. This means that all quality and application-related data, such as material certificates, measurement reports, and maintenance histories, can be accessed digitally at any time.
In conjunction with INOlogic®, the cloud-based platform for condition monitoring, this creates a holistic system for transparency, traceability, and predictive maintenance. This not only makes manufacturing more efficient – it also makes it smarter. Each roll becomes an active sector of a networked production world that meets the requirements of modern Industry 4.0 processes.
